despite being on spring break right now, the weather hardly feels springlike at all. i wanted a cozy cup of hot cocoa while marathoning harry potter so i made it from scratch at the suggestion of a friend.

i may never go back to swiss miss again.

for 1 cup

• 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
• 2-3 tablespoons sugar
• a pinch of salt
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup of milk, heated (i microwaved mine for a minute and a half)

i want to try adding a dash of peppermint extract next time; cinnamon may be another good option. the possibilities are endless. :)
